Gov. John Kasich will speak at a Legislative Luncheon on Tuesday, July 15 at the Deer Ridge Golf Club and The Sand Wedge Grill in Bellville.
The lunch will begin at noon and Kasich will speak and answer questions from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
The luncheon is presented by a regional chamber partnership including the Ashland Area, Bucyrus Area, Clear Fork Valley, Galion-Crestline and Richland Area chambers of commerce.
Gov. Kasich was sworn in as Ohio’s 69th governor on Jan. 10, 2011. As governor, Kasich’s top priority is to create a jobs-friendly climate so Ohioans can get back to work. By closing an $8 billion budget shortfall without a tax increase, reducing taxes by more than $3 billion, cutting wasteful spending and eliminating red tape, Ohio is getting back on track. More than 252,000 private sector jobs have been created since Gov. Kasich took office and Ohio’s unemployment rate is the lowest it has been in six years.
Prior to becoming governor, Kasich served in Congress for 18 years, and, as the chairman of the House Budget Committee, he led the effort to balance the federal budget for the first time since 1969. After leaving Congress in 2000, Kasich worked in the private sector as a managing director at Lehman Brothers, a commentator for FOX News and was a Presidential Fellow at his alma mater, The Ohio State University. Kasich is also the author of three New York Times best-sellers.
Kasich, 62, lives in Westerville with his wife, Karen Waldbillig Kasich, and their twin daughters, Emma and Reese.
The cost to attend the luncheon is $20 for chamber members and $40 for non-members. Reservations are due by July 9.
