Dorothy C. Gee Pursley, 80, of Mansfield, went to be with the Lord June 1, 2014. Born September 12, 1933 in Morehead, KY, she was the daughter of Austin and Sally (Witt) Mynhier. A determined, punctual lady, Dorothy had a tender heart. She loved hearing stories of what her family was up to and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world. Dorothy had worked for Thermo Disc and Stone Container. She was a faithful member of Mansfield Baptist Temple.
Surviving are her sons, Oscar (Vicky) Gee of Mansfield, Roger (Donna) Gee, and Donald Gee, both of Texas; step-daughters, Debora (Arch) Whited of Galion and Kelly (Willie) Mollett of Mansfield; step-son Billy Jr. (Barbie) Pursley of Loudonville and David Pursley; grandchildren, Angela (Robert) Smutylo of Lewis Center, OH, Tiffany (Louis) Medley, Jessica (Blake) Ross, and James McKnight, all of Texas; and great-grandchildren, Logan Smutylo, Emma Smutylo, Luke Medley, and Ayden McKnight.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 35 years and father of her children, whom she married in 1949, Oscar Gee Sr. who passed away February 29, 1984; second husband, Billy E. Pursley who passed away May 26, 2014; brothers, Willie, Roy, and Cecil; sisters, Lillian, Marcella, and Geneva; grandson, Jeremy Gee; and step-grandson, Jeffrey McKnight.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Robert Kurtz, will be held Friday, June 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
