The City of Shelby and Efficiency Smart have formed a partnership to save money and reduce power usage for Shelby Division of Electric and Telecommunications customers through energy efficiency initiatives.

Efficiency Smart and the City of Shelby will host customer appreciation days on Wednesday, May 14, and Thursday, May 15, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the city offices located at 23 E Main Street. During the event, Efficiency Smart staff will distribute five free compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), while supplies last, as well as kits with rebate forms, program information and energy efficiency tips. All participants will be entered to into a drawing to win free LED light bulbs.

Replacing incandescent light bulbs with CFL equivalents is a simple way to save money on utility bills. CFLs use 75 percent less energy while lasting up to 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs. There are many energy-efficient products that can help consumers save money on their electric bills. Efficiency Smart offers several incentives to Shelby Division of Electric and Telecommunications customers promoting these savings.
