Jimmy Marfia played his final round on Saturday, May 3, 2014. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio on January 4, 1932 to Helen and Pete Marfia. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. He worked 29 years at the Mansfield Tire and Rubber Company, then went to his dream job as Manager of Possum Run Golf Course.
Waiting for him at the Pearly Gates will be his mother, Helen; his father, Pete; and his beloved brother, Joe. Keeping his memory alive will be his devoted and loving wife, Nancy; his daughters, Shelly and Toni; and his granddaughters, Heather and Rachel. He is also survived by three step-children and four step-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 3-7 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Military honors will be presented by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cleveland Clinic Heart Center, 9500 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44195.
