DANVILLE — The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has released a 211-page document in relation to the planned attack on the UFC Freedom 250 event by 19-year-old Tycen Proper, a Danville resident.
Proper was arrested June 10 after his mother notified the Danville Police Department and Knox County Sheriff’s Office of concerns about her son’s recent behavior.
“(Proper’s mother) stated that Tycen had been making comments about wanting to ‘take out the evil government,’ planning ‘hit-and-run’ events, and ‘taking out all the data centers.’ Danielle further advised that Tycen believed the government worshipped Satan and that he was planning on ‘taking back America,'” the newly released document stated.
According to this father, Proper was also in contact with “random people online” and had been planning a trip to West Virginia to meet up with these individuals to conduct reconnaissance missions.
At the time of arrest, Proper was enrolled in Mount Vernon Nazarene College. He graduated from Danville High School through the Knox County Career Center’s Landscape & Management program in May.

The document also confirmed Proper’s history of suicidal ideation.
On Feb. 18, 2025, a local church’s youth pastor brought the then-17-year-old Proper to the Danville Police Department. Proper had threatened self harm, and when asked by police, confirmed he wanted to harm himself.
At the scene of his arrest last week, 5-foot-11, 260-pound Proper denied being presently suicidal or homicidal during the conversation.
However, “based on the information provided and concerns regarding Tycen’s mental health” Proper was transported to Behavioral Health Partners at Knox Community Hospital the night of June 10.
On June 11, Proper was reported to be “on a mental health-hold in regard to homicidal idealizations.”
Local authorities also notified federal law enforcement agencies on June 11, including the FBI and Secret Service.
The FBI, coordinating with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, the Danville Police Department, and the Columbus Police Department, executed a local search warrant at the Proper residence on June 11, according to a previous report by Knox Pages.
The released KCSO document also includes 131 new photos from the investigation.
According to Proper’s father, Tycen spent $3,000 of his graduation money on the items.
Evidence found included guns and ammunition, tactical gear, first aid and trauma equipment, camping gear and non-perishable food items.
Proper legally purchased the firearms from local vendors.
The Diamondback DB15 AR-15 5.56 Cal. rifle was purchased on Jan. 13 from Danville Outdoors. The GFORCE model: NK-1 – 12 gauge semi auto shotgun was purchased just days before Proper’s arrest on June 5.
Proper remains in jail after waiving his right Wednesday to a detention hearing in a U.S. District Court in Columbus.
Pictured below are the items found in Proper’s home and room.
Knox Pages will continue reporting on this story as it unfolds.
