Creating Healthy Communities, a grant project through the Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department, and Ag/Local Foods Sector will host a workshop for local growers, market vendors and farmers market organizers.
The workshop is Wednesday, March 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Longview Center, 1495 W. Longview Avenue, in Mansfield.
Christie Welch, Farmers Market Specialist with the Ohio State University South Centers, will present “Best Practices for Ohio Farmers Markets.” The workshop will include marketing and promotional ideas, information on sales of cottage foods, food safety considerations, and the process for Farmers Markets to accept Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. Information and resources will be available to support Richland County markets.
