Ruth Louise Subich, 90, of Mansfield, died Thursday, July 18, 2013 at her residence. Born March 30, 1923 in Elwood, Indiana she was the daughter of Thomas Leonard and Maurine (White) Hockett.

She was a 1941 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and a 1947 graduate of Otterbein College. She was co-owner of the Plymouth and Lexington Laundromats and Olympic Footware and had also worked for Westinghouse, Central Community Church in Columbus and was a sales consultant for Longaberger Basket Company. She was a very active member of the First Congregational Church and a member of Order of Eastern Star Ruth Chapter #17 and was also active with the Republican Party.

She is survived by two sons, Joe (Kay) Subich of Geneva, FL and David (Sherrise) Subich of Alabama; two daughters, Sue Subich of Mt. Gilead and Polly Subich of Norton, OH; five grandchildren, Christopher and Kyle Subich and Aaron, Josh and Hannah Subich; one great grandson, Connor; two sisters, Polly Scherrer of O’Fallon, IL and Hazel Burkholder of Lewis Center, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Subich and a brother, Charles Hockett.

Memorial services conducted by Rev. Bruce Haapalainen will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the First Congregational Church where the family will receive friends in the Blymyer Hall following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Endowment Fund of the First Congregational Church.
