The Greater Mansfield Aquatic Conference (GMAC) commenced this Monday and Tuesday with the diving competition held at Woodland swimming pool.
Alexis Rippel of Woodland and Owen Roth of Walnut Hills, both belonging to the 8 and under age group, placed first in their events with record-setting scores: Rippel (76.45) and Ross (80.15).
Those dubbed as the “Fantastic Four” (Brooke Dingess, Ty Carcione, Adam McCombs, and Evan Heth) traveled to Indiana earlier this summer to fine-tune their diving skills, and displayed their training efforts by placing in each of their events at GMAC.
Dingess, a Walnut Hills diver, took second in the 15-18 age group with a score of 193.50.
Heth, who belongs to the Clear Fork swim and dive team, earned the champion title in the competitive 15-18 age group by scoring 268.25, with his fellow diver, McCombs not falling too far behind in third place with the score of 212.70. Carcione of Walnut Hills earned fifth place in the same age group and scored 183.80.
