Sharel M. Morrow, 81, of Crestline, Ohio, entered eternal rest surrounded by love. Born in 1944, she was the first daughter of Burnell and Vivian Weichert Morrow. She is preceded in death by her brother, Donald K. Morrow.
A proud graduate of the very first class of Colonel Crawford High School in 1962, Sharel went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and her master’s from The Ohio State University. She began her teaching career at Sugar Creek as a physical education teacher and later continued shaping young lives in Bexley. Teaching was not just her profession but her true calling, and she carried that passion with her throughout her career.
Faith was an important part of Sharel’s life. She was a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Leesville and also found community at Christ Lutheran in Columbus and Trinity Lutheran in Galion.
Sharel lived life with joy and a spirit of adventure. She was an avid traveler who never said no to new experiences. She loved spending time on the golf course with friends and family, cherishing both the game and the laughter it brought. She was a huge Ohio State Football fan, where she attended or watched the games with friends and family. She was a member of many clubs—whether enjoying cards, books, or the arts. The symphony and cultural events were among her favorite pastimes, as she embraced life’s beauty in every form.
Above all, Sharel treasured her family. She is survived by her sister, Marcella L. Grau; her nephew, Lance Grau; her niece, Erica Gardner and husband Mark; and her great-niece, Kacey Gardner. To her family and countless friends, Sharel was a true and loyal companion whose kindness, strength, and love left an unforgettable mark.
Sharel touched and blessed many lives. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her. We are all better because of the love, wisdom, and joy she shared with us.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Kidney Foundation, causes close to Sharel’s heart.
