Thomas Joseph O’Connell II
August 21, 1965 – June 18, 2025
Sugar Land, TX – 59 years old

It is with great sadness that the family of “Thomas Joseph O’Connell, aka Joe or Joey O’Connell” announces his passing on June 18, 2025, at the age of 59, following a 16-month battle with cancer. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, and his quirky personality.

Joe was born on August 21, 1965, in Jacksonville, FL, to Thomas and Dorothy O’Connell. He went on to enjoy a remarkable 34-year career at Warren Rupp (or 36 years if you ask Joe). He made numerous friends from all around the world with his knowledge, wit and charm. His colleagues and friends will always remember his distinctive approach to life, filled with humor and grace.

Joe cherished his time spent with his wife, Angie O’Connell, enjoying concerts, romantic date nights, indulging in fine dining and relaxing at the beach. His quiet moments at home watching his favorite movies brought him peace and those who knew him best will forever hold these memories close.

Joe is survived by his wife, Angie O’Connell, his stepchildren Desiree Sqrow and Kassandra (Bryan) Tello, his two beloved grandchildren Kedrick and Adrian, and his brother Tim (Lottie) O’Connell. He also leaves behind a wide circle of friends and colleagues across Ohio, Texas and beyond, who will miss him dearly.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Dorothy O’Connell.

Joe and Angie shared a very special bond over the years. Joe was Angie’s love and life, and will be missed more than words can ever say. He is now at peace, but will forever remain in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1114 Park Ave West, Mansfield, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
