MANSFFIELD – The 4th-8th grade academic challenge teams opened their season this month.
We want to congratulate all competitors but especially our winners for each tournament.
“It is always fun to start the academic challenge ‘season’ for our districts and students,” says Rebecca Kidney, tournament director.
“We added several new districts and teams this year to the various levels of competition. And once again, all of our coaches have done a phenomenal job preparing their teams for the start. It’s going to be an incredible year!”
Jan. 23 results (4th grade)
4th-grade teams: Colonel Crawford A & B; Crestview A, B & C; Discover A; Lexington A; Mansfield Spanish Immersion A & B; Northmor A & B; Ontario A & B; Plymouth-Shiloh; Sacred Heart; St. ’s of Peter’s; Shelby; Wooster A, B, & C; and Wynford A & B.
Wooster B placed first with a score of 108. Wooster B is made up of Andrew Jeon, Davey Michel, Auggie Mealey, Seton Holmes and Jaxson Walter.
Colonel Crawford A, with a score of 106, took second place. Colonel Crawford A consists of Owen McGrady, Mason McGrady, Mia Jones, Sammy Rose and Rhylee Wheeler.

Wooster A was the champion with a score of 107, and there was a tie for second place between Mansfield Spanish Immersion C and Wooster C both with a score of 100.
Wooster A includes Katie Bradham, Asher Dewald, Charlie Fishburn, Zoey Thompson and Dorian VanGra. Mansfield Spanish Immersion C is made up of Chase, JJ and Carolyn.
Wooster C consisted of Jack McGrady, Matthew Norris, Chelsea Schantz, Harrison Sutter and Lexi Zvolensky.

Lexington A took first place with a score of 99 while Mansfield Spanish Immersion B took second place with a score of 92.
Lexington A is made up of Ben M., Ina G., Monte C. and Emily S. Mansfield Spanish Immersion B consists of Levi Etzel, Paxton Kenyon, Anabella Richards, Calvin Walter and Zackory Walter.

There was a tie for 1st place in the 7/8th grade tournament. Colonel Crawford A and Lexington A had 105 points.

Lexington A was made up of Carter G., Axl L., Coulter S., Jesse S. and Noah T.
