MANSFIELD: Goldie Ruth Richards, 69, of Mansfield, passed away on May 9, 2024 in her home. She was born in Ashland to parents Ervin Dale and Mary Jane (Ziway) Strouse. Goldie spent her life dedicated to her family. On November 21, 1973, she married Scotty Eugene Richards, and after school, became a devoted homemaker. The couple welcomed four children: Jennifer, Scotty Jr., David, and Melissa.
Goldie basked in all the beauty and treasures life had to offer her. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with family, and often sought after unique finds at yard sales and thrift stores. She was passionate about horses and collected everything from photos to figurines. A lover of country music, Goldie especially adored Conway Twitty and Elvis Presley.
Goldie is survived in loving memory by all four of her children; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and siblings Shirley Kaser, Steven Strouse, Ervin Strouse and Diana Humphries. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Scotty; and David Strouse, Grover Strouse, Judy Strouse, and Leona Jeffries.
Friends may call Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 4-7 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home were visitation continues Thursday from 12 pm to 1 pm. The funeral service, officiated by Daniel Cantlebarry will follow at 1 pm.
