MANSFIELD – The deadline to vote early in-person is Monday, March 14 at 2 P.M. at the board office located at 1495 W. Longview Avenue, Suite 101. Please use the building entrance at the rear of the Longview Center in the lower level parking lot at the southwest door.

Hours for early voting in person are as follows:

  • March 7- March 11, Monday-Friday 8 a.m.- 7 p.m.
  • March 12, Saturday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • March 13, Sunday 1 p.m.- 5 p.m.
  • March 14, Monday 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is Saturday, March 12 at noon. Absentee ballots returned in person to the board office must be received by the close of polls (7:30 p.m.) on Election Day March 15. Voted absentee ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by March 14, and received in the board office by March 25. If it’s mailed on the 14, we suggest that the ballot is taken to the Post Office and that you specifically request a postmark stamped on the envelope. If we can’t determine that the postmark date is March 14 or earlier, the ballot cannot be counted.

Voted ballots can be mailed back to the board office, or the voter, or a member of the voter’s immediate family, may return the ballot sealed in the envelope to the board office. No absentee ballots may be returned to the polling place on Election Day. If a voter who has requested an absentee ballot by mail appears at their polling place on Election Day to vote, they must vote a Provisional ballot.

We would also encourage voters who plan to vote at the polls on Election Day to call the Board of Elections office prior to March 15 if they are unsure of their polling place, or they may check online at www.richlandcountyoh.us/boe under “Voter View”. Voters may contact the Elections office at 419-774-5530, or by email at: boardofelections@richlandcountyoh.us.

A registered voter who has moved or changed their name but didn’t update their voter registration with our office prior to the Feb. 16 deadline should come to the board office during early voting hours and change their address and/or name. They will then be required to cast a Provisional ballot either at the Board Office, or at their new polling place on Election Day.
