Harold “Ricky” Lepley, 61, of Mansfield, fell asleep peacefully and awoke in the arms of Christ on Tuesday afternoon, March 1, 2016, at Liberty Nursing Center. He was born November 6, 1954, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to Paul Lepley and Joann (Clutter) Rust.
Ricky attended Malabar High School and worked for over 20 years at Cousins Foundry. Though his health failed early in life, he remained resilient and enjoyed life to the fullest with his quick wit and humor. He enjoyed swimming, camping, playing Bingo with his many friends, and eating a good meal. He became a member of Mansfield Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1983 and looked forward to the second coming of Christ and the Resurrection of his followers. Ricky enjoyed music, especially Led Zeppelin and the Eagles. Ricky also enjoyed western shows and movies and was an avid John Wayne, Bonanza and Gunsmoke fan.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Joann and James Rust of Mansfield; two step sisters, Yvonne (Pete) Montgomery and Regina (Mike) Clark, both of Mansfield; a step brother, James Rust of Texas; a very special cousin, Raymond Weirick of Florida; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved church family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Lepley; step father, Clarence Rust; step sister, Debbie Shade; and grandmother, Veta Gorman.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Mansfield Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1040 West Cook Road, Mansfield. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park at a later date. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
