Joan M. Miller, 87, of Galion, died Monday, March 21, 2016 at Bennington Glen Nursing & Rehab Center, Marengo after a short illness.

Joan was born in Marion County on Sept. 8, 1928 to the late Fred H. Geckley and the late Mary (Fisher) Burgraf. She married Wayne E. Miller on Sept. 29, 1967 and he preceded her in death in November 2009.

She retired from PECO after 32 years in 1990. Joan was a member of the Morrow County Quilters, Mount Gilead and the Galion Golden Age Center, Galion. She was kindhearted, an avid cake decorator and avid quilter. Every birthday and wedding cake was special and she proudly made several of her grandchildren’s graduation cakes. Joan enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Brenda and Daniel Keller, of Marengo, Brian and Kathi Snyder, of Mobile, Alabama, her stepchildren Richard “Rick” and Janice Miller, of Crestline, Deborah and Dan Miklosko, of Las Vegas, Nevada, five grandchildren Jerri and Frank Liberati, Valerie and Geoff Price, Randy and Jody Keller, Brian and Kim Snyder Jr., and Bridget and Jonathan McCarty, her three step-grandchildren Mason, Clay and Phillip, numerous great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, her sister Leola Beatty, of Mount Gilead, her special friends and neighbors Janet MacAdam and Nate and Linda Vance and their children, Nick and Emily Vance.

She was preceded in death by her sister Donna Calbert and her two brothers Ray Geckley and Floyd Mailey, her great granddaughter Jenna Keller and her great step-granddaughter Amanda Jeffries.

Friends may call Thursday, March 24, 2016 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.
