MANSFIELD — Richland County is host to a number of Easter egg hunts and events this season.
Here’s a list of upcoming events put on by local communities, organizations and businesses.
Bellville: The village’s Easter egg hunt, sponsored by Country Meadows, will be held Friday, March 25 from 10-11 a.m. at American Legion Park, 77 Bell St.
Butler: An Easter egg hunt for children 12 and younger will be held at Butler Elementary School on Saturday, March 26 at 10 a.m.
Lexington: The Elks will host Lexington’s Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 26 at Bicentennial Park. The hunt starts at 11 a.m.
Lucas: The Lucas Lions Club is sponsoring the village’s Easter egg hunt, which will be held Saturday, March 26 at 10 a.m. at the Lucas Elementary School playground.
Mansfield: The City of Mansfield will host an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 26, at 10 a.m. at South Park, located at 100 Brinkerhoff Ave. There will be games, face painting and prizes. Children will be divided into age groups with prizes for all. The event will take place rain or shine. Please bring your own container for the egg hunt.
Mansfield YMCA: The YMCA is hosting its annual Easter Egg Splash on Saturday, March 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children and their families are welcome to come enjoy a day of Easter fun, including an egg hunt in the pool, swimming, crafts and exciting games with the Easter Bunny. The Easter Egg Splash is free and open to the public thanks to the event sponsor, Meijer.
Ohio Bird Sanctuary: OBS will host its annual Eggstravaganza on Saturday, March 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Ontario: Ontario will have its Easter egg hunt at the Marshall Park playscape on Saturday, March 19 at noon. This event, sponsored by the city recreation department, is for children in fourth grade and under. The Easter Bunny and Miss Ontario will be present.
Plymouth: The village’s Easter egg hunt, sponsored by the Plymouth Lions Club, will be held at Mary Fate Park on Saturday, March 19 at 1 p.m. The rain date is scheduled for the following Saturday at the same time, same place. Mary Fate Park is located off Ohio 61 on the north side of Plymouth turning at the light to Hound Dog Hop.
Richland Carrousel Park: The carrousel will give youngsters the chance to get their photo taken with the Easter Bunny on Saturdays and Sundays (March 5-20) from 1 to 4 p.m. for a $5 donation.
The carrousel will also host its Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 26 at 11 a.m. There will be games, prizes and face painting.
Richland Mall: The Easter Bunny will be at Richland Mall from March 12-26. Get $3 off photo package price if purchased before March 23. Package includes: one 5×7, two 4×6, and eight wallets.
Richland Mall has also reserved a special time for children with autism to visit the Easter Bunny on Sunday, March 13 from 9:30-11 a.m. The mall will make the area sensory-friendly with lower lighting and quieter surroundings. Shelby YMCA: The Shelby Y, located at 111 W. Smiley Road, will hold an Easter egg hunt for children ages 2-6 on Sunday, March 20 at 1 p.m. The Easter Bunny will be present.
First Lutheran Church, located at 33 Broadway St. in Shelby, is also hosting an Easter egg hunt on March 26 at 1 p.m., with a bake sale starting at 10:30 a.m.
