Esther Beitzel

Esther N. Beitzel, 91, of Crestline passed away Sunday afternoon, January 3, 2016 at Country View of Sunbury where she had been a resident for the past four years.

She was born December 18, 1924 in Nova, Ohio and was the daughter of Ira M. and Blance (Sponsler) Rickett. Esther married Stanton Beitzel in March 1948 and he preceded her in death in March of 1989.

She was a member of the Blooming Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church. Esther was a homemaker and also taught elementary school in Youngstown and Blooming Grove. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, baking and sewing.

She is survived by children, Peggy Dewey of Galion, Edward (Pamela) Beitzel of Niles, Michigan, Judy (Mark) West of Galion, Kenneth Beitzel of Mansfield, Sandra Luckey of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Keith (Penny) Beitzel of Mt. Vernon and Roger (Kathy) Beitzel of Aurora, Illinois; 13 grandchildren and 12great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Blooming Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
