Linda Plice, 60, of Polk, Ohio, went home to the be with the Lord Sunday afternoon, Dec. 13, 2015, at Hospice of North Central Ohio. She was born May 20, 1955, in Lodi, Ohio, to Charles and Mary (Studer) Herr.
Linda was a 1973 graduate of Cloverleaf High School and 1977 graduate of Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. She was a third grade teacher in North Central local schools. Linda then retired as a clerk in the Nursing Department of the Ashland City Health Department.
She was a faithful member of Grace Brethren Church on Main Street in Ashland for many years. Linda was active with mission trips that included Navajo Mission, Canada, the Czech Republic, and locally.
She loved traveling and spending time at the beach, as well as spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her free time she enjoyed flower gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, quilting, knitting and bicycling. Playing Euchre was a favorite pastime.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Douglas Plice; son, Ryan (Emily) Plice of Lynchburg, Virginia; daughters, Bethany Plice, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and Ella (Mike) Waggoner, of Sagamore Hills, Ohio; six grandchildren, Riley, Asher, Ryder and Wyatt Plice, Charlie and Sydney Waggoner; her mother, Mary Herr of Lodi, Ohio; a sister, Louise (Keith) Marshall, of San Diego, California; two brothers, Bob (Sherry) Herr, of Warsaw, Indiana, and Ron (Barb) Herr, of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Herr.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, in Grace Brethren Church, 1144 W. Main St., Ashland. Joe Maggelet will conduct the memorial service which follows at 3 p.m. Private burial will be in Red Haw Cemetery conducted by Pastor Norm Johnson.
