MOHICAN TOWNSHIP – An unidentified driver was seriously injured in a Monday morning crash in Ashland County, according to the Ashland Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers are investigating a serious injury crash involving two vehicles that occurred Monday morning at approximately 8:10 a.m. on US 30 at the intersection of County Road 30A in Ashland County.

A 1989 Cadillac Allante was traveling southbound on County Road 30A when it failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign at the intersection of US 30. The Cadillac pulled out into the path of a 2005 Peterbuilt Semi Truck heading westbound on US 30. After the collision, the Cadillac went off of the right side of the roadway and came to a final rest and the Semi-Truck pulled off onto the right berm.

The driver of the Peterbuilt Semi-Truck, Mark W. McCullough, 61, of Dalton, was not injured in the crash.

The driver of the Cadillac was transported by ambulance to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital with serious injuries. That individual’s name has not yet been released by authorities.

Other agencies assisting at the crash scene were: Jeromesville Fire & EMS, Hayesville Fire & EMS, and the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office.

One lane of US 30 westbound was shut down for approximately 90 minutes during clean-up.

It is unknown at this point if the driver of the Cadillac Allante was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver of the Peterbuilt Semi-Truck was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The crash is still currently under investigation.
