Willard S. Garlow, 87, of Galion passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Kobacker House in Columbus.
Born October 17, 1929 in Morgantown, West Virginia, he was the son of Claude Garlow and Blanche (Smyth) Garlow. He married Beulah Dean (Zinn) Garlow on February 21, 1953 and they shared 64 loving years together.
Willard was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and currently St. Paul United Methodist Church in Galion where he served as a trustee and did many jobs around the church. He served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and worked as a lab technician at the former Peco/North Electric /ITT in Galion. Willard enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and traveling. He was always calm and laidback and loved his family. Willard especially liked being called “Pap Paw” by his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Pam (Rich) Courter of Blacklick and Stan Garlow of Galion; grandchildren Shawn Garlow, Chris Garlow, Heather Courter and Ryan Courter and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Andrew, Hollis and Kenneth Garlow.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 746 Cherry Street, Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 15 with Rev. Ash Welch officiating.
