Edna Varie Kepple passed from this life into the next on Tuesday, April 7, 2015. She was born to William A. and Ellamae (Rasmussen) Johnston on December 31, 1931, in Akron, Ohio.
Edna was married to Robert L. Kepple on October 27, 1951. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2011. She was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School. Edna worked in the insurance industry most of her life-first, for Carlton F. Miller, and later, for State Farm. Being a creative and talented lady, she wrote for the Heritage in addition to writing stories for her own children.
Edna was formerly involved with the Richland County Genealogical Society and had traced her family tree years ago. She loved to knit, crochet and paint pictures of scenery. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She and her husband spent many weekends camping with the family, enjoying lots of fun and laughter. Her sense of humor was a huge part of her personality and was enjoyed by all who knew her. Edna found great joy in visits from her dear and faithful friend, Rosemary Littleton.
She is survived by three children, Valerie Chronister of TX, Charles Kepple of OH, and Teresa (Tim) Ringley of GA; nine grandchildren, Nicole Baird, Tom (Ericka) Chronister, Ashley Chronister, Brett Chronister, Andrew (Nikki) Kepple, Ben Kepple, Bryce Kepple, Brian (Liv) Ringley and Justin Ringley; as well as six great-grandsons.
Private family services will be observed. Burial will be held in Mansfield Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richland County Historical Society, 310 Springmill St., Mansfield, OH 44903. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
