GALION, Ohio – Join historian, lecturer, and author Kenneth Hammontree as he returns to Galion Public Library with another of his celebrated “Living History” performances.
On Monday, April 13 at 7 p.m., Hammontree will become Andrew Carnegie, the man who funded over 3,000 libraries. Patrons are invited to sample Carnegie’s life and learn how he became one of the 20th century’s most famous philanthropists.

Trash to Beauty
Melissa Taylor, local muralist and fine artist, will teach two classes at the Galion Public Library.
Customers are encouraged to celebrate National Library Week and Earth Day by creating art out of old, damaged books.
Wednesday, April 15 at 6 p.m.: Book makeovers – Repurposing damaged or lonely books.
Friday, April 17 at 3 p.m.: Recycled Books – “The Art of turning Trash into Beauty.”
There is no charge for the classes. Participants should bring an old book for Wednesday’s class if possible, small or children’s book recommended. All other materials will be provided.
