LEXINGTON, Ohio — Lexington Moose Lodge 2511 hosted and sponsored an “All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast” on Saturday, March 21. All proceeds from the morning event went to support the Lexington Athletic Booster Club.

Todd Newberry

Parent of two Lexington athletes and two-year member of Moose Lodge 2511, Todd Newberry, carries a bowl full of pancake batter to be fried.

“This is a great way for the Moose Lodge to give back to the community and help with the Athletic Boosters,” said Newberry.

Pancake Batter

Todd Newberry and his son, Alex Newberry, serve two of the four cooks. The All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast had the cooks busy — Todd Newberry estimated 700 pancakes were made from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 21.

The Fousts

Forest and Pat Foust attended the pancake breakfast to show support for Lexington athletics.

“It’s a community get-together with a good chance to socialize with others. A community needs that,” said Pat Foust. The couple has a long tradition of cross country runners in their family. Both of their daughters and their son ran, and three of their grandchildren now run cross country for Lexington.

Tam and Mike Schuster

Tam and Mike Schuster smile with a plate full of pancakes. Mike Schuster has been involved with Lexington community associations and clubs since 1987. He said the Moose Lodge donates everything for them, the ingredients, the space, the cooks.

“And then they give us 100 percent of the proceeds,” he said. “What’s kept me doing all of this for so long is the people, the sports, the friends. It’s a lot of fun,” he added.

Scott Gossett

Eleven-year Lexington Moose Lodge 2511 Administrator Scott Gossett spends the morning mixing batter, frying pancakes and sausage links, and cleaning dishes in the kitchen.

“We do anything for our children. Kids need to be active in sports. We’re just here for the community and we try to show that through everything we do,” he said.
