TROY TOWNSHIP – A Marion man was killed and two other people injured after a three-vehicle crash on Sunday night in Troy Township, according to the Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Jeffrey D. Kight, 60, of Marion, was killed and another person seriously injured, the Patrol stated.
The crash occurred at 6:05 p.m. on State Route 97 at Gass Road in Richland County.
The preliminary investigation shows a 2007 Ford Fusion driven by Trenton Hoffer, 20, of Mansfield, was traveling east on State Route 97. Two motorcycles were traveling west on State Route 97, a 1998 Harley Davidson Electra Glide, driven by Kight, and a 1999 Harley Davidson Night Train, driven by Scott T. Bullion, 54, of Marion.
According to the Patrol, the 2007 Ford Fusion failed to yield while turning left onto Gass Road striking both motorcycles.
Kight, Bullion, and a female occupant of the 2007 Ford Fusion were transported to Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital — Kight and Bullion with serious injuries. Kight passed away at the hospital.
The Mansfield Post continues to investigate the crash. Assisting agencies on the scene were: Lexington Police Department, Troy Township Fire and EMS, Washington Township EMS, Springfield Township Fire and EMS.
