The City Rivalry takes center stage tonight. Mansfield Senior and Madison will renew hostilities for the 49th time on Friday at Ram Field at STARTEK Stadium.
The Tygers lead the all-time series 24-21-3. The first meeting in the series was in 1933. The rivals have met every season since 1968. Mansfield Senior won the first six meetings (1933, 1935, 1968-71) and matched that run with six straight from 1998 to 2003, the longest streaks in the series. Madison’s longest winning streak was five in a row from 1988-92 and included a forfeit victory in 1991 (Senior High won the game 21-17 but had to forfeit for using an ineligible player).
