MANSFIELD — A 27-year-old Mansfield man was hospitalized on Tuesday night after a shooting incident that police believe could be tied to a triple shooting earlier in the day.
According to authorities, this victim was shot in the 200 block of Parkway Drive at approximately 10:43 p.m. Upon arrival, officers and emergency personnel discovered the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound and he was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The victim was struck while outside of the residence, after several gunshots came from a passing vehicle.
“Detectives are looking into the possibility that this incident may be related to the earlier shooting on Louise Avenue,” said Capt. Shari Robertson.
At approximately 2:46 p.m., Mansfield Police officers responded to the 500 block of Louise Avenue n reference to multiple people being shots. Upon arrival, officers and emergency personnel located two gunshot victims, a 71-year-old female and a 22-year-old male, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. A third gunshot victim from the shooting, a 16-year-old male, was located a short time later at an area hospital.
