JACKSON TOWNSHIP – A Polk teen suffered life-threatening injuries early Sunday morning after a one-vehicle crash in Jackson Township, according to the Ashland Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Michael Richardson, 19, was flown to Cleveland Metro for treatment, the Patrol reported.
At approximately 3:01 a.m., Troopers were called to the scene at State Route 302 near Township Road 251 in Ashland County. Their report states that a 2000 Lexus RX300 was traveling eastbound on State Route 302 when it went off the road to the right, struck a utility pole and overturned into a ravine.
State Route 302 between Township Road 251 and County Road 175 will be closed for a short time while the utility pole and power lines are repaired by Ohio Edison.
Other agencies assisting at the crash scene were: The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Polk Jackson Fire and EMS and Metro Life Flight.
The crash is still currently under investigation.
