Karen M. Barber, 58, of Mt. Gilead died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at Galion Community Hospital.
Born in Galion, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Marcella (Koschnick) Dewalt. She married Charles “Chuck” Barber on July 28, 1984 and he survives.
Karen was a graduate of Galion High School in 1973 and a graduate of the Mansfield General School of Nursing. She worked as the Director of Nursing for the former Rosewood Manor Nursing Center in Galion retiring after 18 years.
In addition to her spouse she is also survived by sisters, Shirley (Russell) Fitz of Galion and Theresa (Ted) Nutter of Hebron and a brother, Terrance Dewalt of Lakewood; nieces, Cindy (Kyle) Clouner of Marion, Missy (Danny) Witter of Hilliard and Jenny (Owen) Miller of Columbus.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014 at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel in Galion where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating.
