Marvin L. Thompson, 67, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at his residence, following a courageous battle.

Marvin was born on Aug. 9, 1946 in Olive Hill, KY, to Clyde and Rose (Brown) Thompson. He was an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed coon hunting and fishing. Marvin was a good-hearted man known by his family and friends as “The Mayor of Little Kentucky”.

He is survived by three children, Mitch Woodhall, Andrea LeMaster, and Michelle Thompson; and grandchildren , two brothers, Clifford and Jim; two nephews, Arlie Thompson and Danny Tucker Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews. While Marvin is survived by many friends, a special thanks to Kevin Frazier for his love and support.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings, Paul, Ann, Glenn, Georgie, Fay, Aline, and Harlan.

Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.  July 21, 2014 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield.  Funeral services will be at noon on  July 22nd ,2014, with Pastor C. Earl Tackett officiating. Burial will follow at Bunker Hill Cemetery.
