Mechanics Bank is pleased to announce Laurel Derrenberger, Jocelyn King and Nicole Myers have been awarded the James A. Courtney Award. The Award is presented to Mechanics employees who best exemplify the company’s mission – “to pursue excellence in every possible way to enrich the lives of the people and the communities we serve.” The award is presented on a peer nomination basis.

Laurel Derrenberger began her career at Mechanics in 1993 as a Customer Service Representative. She has served as a Receptionist, Loan Service Representative, Loan Officer and Human Resources Manager. She is currently an Assistant Vice President and Loan Service Representative Supervisor. Laurel and her family reside in Mansfield.

Joceyln King began her career at Mechanics in 2005 as a Customer Service Representative (CSR). She has served as a Senior CSR and Customer Service Specialist. She is currently an Assistant Secretary-Treasurer and Assistant Branch Manager at the Shelby Office. Jocelyn and her family reside in the Crestview district.

Nicole Myers began her career at Mechanics in 2004 as a Customer Service Representative (CSR). She has served as a Senior CSR, Answer Center Specialist and Operations Quality Liaison. She is currently an Assistant-Secretary Treasurer, Regulatory Compliance Officer and Bank Security Act Officer. Nicole and her family reside in Butler.

The James A. Courtney Award, named for Mechanics’ former President, is the company’s most prestigious recognition of performance. Prior to his retirement in 2003, Mr. Courtney led the bank through a fifteen-year period of growth and continued independence. Today Mechanics Bank is Richland County’s only independent bank with seven convenient locations in Richland County.
