The Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department has scheduled the March health screenings, which are listed below.

Senior Screenings

Special health screenings for senior citizens to check blood pressure and blood sugar levels (three hour fast required for blood sugar), will be provided by Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department nurses at the following dates, locations and times:

Monday, March 3 at the Friendly House, 380 N. Mulberry Street, Mansfield 10 a.m. – noon

Wednesday, March 5 at the Butler Adult Senior Center, 20 Henry Street, Butler 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.

Monday, March 10 at the Masonic Temple, 1240 Middle-Bellville Rd., Mansfield 9:30 – 11 a.m.

Monday, March 17 at Peoples Community Senior Center, 597 Park Avenue East, Mansfield 1:30 – 3 p.m.

Wednesday, March 19 at the Ontario United Methodist Church, 3540 Park Avenue West, Ontario 11 a.m. – noon

Monday, March 24 at the Bellville Public Library, 97 Bell Street, Bellville 2 – 3 :30 p.m.

Wednesday, March 26 at the YWC Senior Center, 1271 Hedges (old Armory) 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

For additional information call Public Health Nursing at 419-774-4540. Clinics are partly funded by local tax dollars and a federal grant administered through the Ohio Department of Aging/District 5 Area Agency on Aging. Donations are accepted.

Neighborhood Immunizations

Infants, children and adults can get the shots they need at the Neighborhood Immunization Clinics staffed by public health nurses from the Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department. Children must be accompanied by an adult/guardian and need an up-to-date shot record and insurance card at time of service. Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care, Anthem and Medical Mutual cards are accepted. No child is denied vaccines due to inability to pay (donations are accepted). Cost of most children’s vaccines is $20 and then $10 for each additional dose. Pricing for adult vaccine varies.

Wednesday, March 5 at the Lexington Library, 25 Lutz Ave., Lexington 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, March 12 at City Hall – City of Shelby Health Department, 43 West Main Street, Shelby 9:30 a.m – noon & 1:30 – 3 p.m.

Wednesday, March 19 at the Shenandoah Christian Church, 5642 St. Rt. 13 North, Shenandoah 9 ‑ 11:30 a.m.

Wednesday, March 19 at the Madison Library, 1395 Grace St., Mansfield 1:30 – 3 p.m.

Monday, March 24 at the Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department, 555 Lexington Ave., Mansfield 4 – 7 p.m.

Community Health Screenings

Free health assessments include blood pressure and hemoglobin screening, medication counseling and nutrition education. Blood sugar screening requires a three hour fast and cholesterol screening is available with a 12-hour fast ($10 charge).
