Gregg U. Shoewalter, age 61, passed away peacefully at his home in Crestline on May 17, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of a life beautifully lived.

Born and raised in Mount Gilead, Ohio; Gregg was a well traveled man making it to 49 states with a planned trip to Alaska to complete his travels. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, THE Ohio State Buckeyes and a lifelong lover of AC/DC. He rarely missed a chance to passionately cheer on his favorite teams and tune into classic rock. He attended the University of Rio Grande where he was proudly a member of Alpha Delta Epsilon. There he met and formed friendships which proved true friendship can last a lifetime. He carried the memories and bonds made there throughout his life.

Above all else, Gregg was devoted to his family along with the multi award winning work he received from working as a Medicare Insurance Agent. He also worked passionately with Boots on the Ground. His hard work and support he provides to his customers was truly appreciated and will be heavily missed.

He was a loving father to his children and a proud member of a beautifully blended family filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. No matter how much trouble the kids were causing, across the house you could hear the two magical words “be cool!” That one phrase could magically turn chaos into good behavior and somehow, even in their 30s, still worked.

The love shared between Gregg and his wife, Kim, was the kind many spend a lifetime hoping to find — steady, genuine, and enduring through every season of their life. He was known affectionately as the best “Grand-Dude” to his grandsons, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to his life.

Gregg is survived by the love of his life and wife, Kim Shoewalter; his children, Brittanni Shoewalter, Bethanni (Matt) Aloia, Kaysi Keesee, and Jennifer Zartman; his cherished grandchildren, Colton, Barrett, the newest bundle of joy on the way, Dakota, Savanna and Dylan. His great-grandchildren Xavier and Hendrix, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Patricia Shoewalter; his father-in-law, Dallas Keesee; and his beloved fur babies, Maxwell Angus and Mariah Marie.

A wise man once said: “WHO DEY.”

A time to celebrate and reflect on Gregg’s life will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, Tuesday, May 26, 2026 in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home.
