Louis D. Steinman, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. He was 62.

He was born on February 24, 1964 in Loudonville, Ohio to the late Hunter A. and Serena (Miller) Steinman.

On November 4, 2000 Louis married the love of his life, Deborah Murray, and together the couple shared nearly 26 years of life, laughter, and memories together.

Louis was a man of many talents and interests. He worked for many years at Kahl’s Telecom and, alongside his brothers, owned and operated Lextronics. He also enjoyed the adventure of being part owner of three bars. Louis was very tech savvy, a gift he often attributed to his father’s foresight in recognizing the coming age of technology when Louis was just a child. He was equally talented when it came to music, playing the drums, rhythm guitar, bass guitar, and piano. Louis played with the local band Tone-X. He loved supporting and contributing to the local music scene in any way he could, but especially enjoyed the jam nights at the Party House, where he could share his love of music with others.

Louis had a near-photographic memory, which meant he was a seemingly endless source of random knowledge and trivia—you could count on him to know a little something about just about everything. He was also a wonderful cook, even if his kitchen was not always the cleanest place while he worked; somehow, the mess was always worth it when the food was ready. He enjoyed collecting comic books, particularly Marvel Comics, and took pleasure in the many interests that kept his curious mind busy. But above all of his talents and hobbies, what stood out most about Louis was the size of his heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, share what he knew, or be there for someone who needed him. His generosity, willingness to help others, and the many ways he shared his talents with those around him will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his loving wife Deborah Steinman, brothers Ted (Sherrie) Steinman, Chuck (Sue) Steinman, Bob (Bini) Steinman, and Ken (Diane) Steinman, brother-in-law Duke Darrigo, nieces and nephews Tyler Steinman, Megan Steinman, Sarah (Travis Shea) Everly, Heather (Adam) Shenk, and Susan Everly, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Louis is preceded in death by his sister Juanita Darrigo and aunt Mabel (Ford) Barnett.

A celebration of life service is being planned for a later date, please check back for updates.
