George H. Parkison, age 77 of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at his beloved Lake Maria Campground. He was born on April 19, 1949, in Mansfield to the late George and Louise (Hooper) Parkison, and on March 23, 2001, he married his loving wife, Chris (McNeely).

George was proud to have served his country in Vietnam as part of the United States Marine Corps, and he was still all about the Marines to this day. He and his wife were life members of Amvets Post 26 and VFW Post 3494. George enjoyed his summers spent camping, and he truly loved his Lake Maria family and friends. He also adored his dog Bella.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years Chris Parkison; his children Valerie (Brian Keller) Parkison and Chad (Carrieann) Parkison; his stepchildren Tony (Jenny) Cooke and Tiffany (Brandon) Stewart; his brother Mike (Kip Hightshoe) Parkison; his grandchildren Travis Parkison, Gage (Suzanna) Stewart, Kayley (Nathan) Stewart, Sophie Cooke, Gracie Cooke, Brella Stewart, and Courtney (Brad) Crist; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his good friend Sheila Mowry.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Louise Parkison and his father- and mother-in-law Lester and Janie McNeely.

Per George’s request, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
