Raymond Gene Ward, age 83 of Ashland, Ohio passed away peacefully at Ohio Health Mansfield on Sunday, June 8, 2026.
He was born September 24,1942 in Mansfield, Ohio to Forest Richard Ward and Helen Virginia (Cosgrove) Ward.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Billy, Larry, Gary, Jimmy, Tommy & Richard; also, three sisters, Doris Snyder, Shirley Crider and Barbara Franko.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Stephanie Landers; Grandson, Michael Landers of Waikoloa, Hawaii: one brother, Donald (Goldie) Ward of Minerva, Ohio: and two sisters, Karen (Jack) Swanigan and Brenda (Paul) Allen of Mansfield, Ohio.
Raymond was a 1960 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School in Mansfield, Ohio.
He enjoyed landscaping, playing bingo, cooking and traveling, short trip or long, it didn’t matter, car, plane, boat or train, he loved it all! Last, but certainly not least, at the top of the list, he loved and cherished his time spent with his son John, daughter-in-law Stephanie and grandson Michael!
Raymond was a VERY friendly, loving, kindhearted and extremely outgoing person, always on the upside of meeting new people and making new friends!
Being the people person that he was, every year he would organize and host a large family and friends get together, cook-out and fun-time at his home in Mansfield, Ohio! One highlight at these get togethers was always, among friends and family, his amazing and famous homemade macaroni salad! Raymond Gene Ward, a super loving person and a super wonderful cook was and always will certainly be high on his talent list!
Also, being the kindhearted person that he was, he was always willing to help someone in need!
A celebration of life to honor Mr. Ward will be held at The Life Celebration and Reception Center located at 129 South Main Street in Mansfield, Ohio on Sunday, August 16,2026 from 2:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.
