About the event:

As part of the America 250-Ohio initiative, a white oak tree will be planted in each of Ohio’s 88 counties to honor our state’s role in the nation’s founding.  We are proud that Shelby has been selected to represent Richland County, recognizing the historical significance of our community and its commitment to preserving local heritage.

The ceremony will take place on Friday, April 24th at 10:00 am at Seltzer Park in Shelby.  This event will serve as both a commemoration of our shared history and a symbol of environmental stewardship for future generations.

The library has partnered with the city to bring this event to Shelby.

We will be hosting a Story Time with coloring pages alongside the Shelby Kiwanis Group, who will be handing out free saplings courtesy of the Clear Fork FFA Alumni, who supplied the saplings for this event.
