BELLVILLE — The Clear Fork defense never allowed Galion to entertain thoughts of an upset on Friday night.

The Colts intercepted four passes and pitched a shutout to earn a 25-0 win over the visiting Tigers on a gorgeous night in the valley.

The Clear Fork defense flexed its muscle almost immediately, recording a safety with less than three minutes gone in the game.

Trey Sellers then capped the ensuing possession with a 58-yard touchdown bolt to push the Colts on top 9-0 with 7:52 remaining in the first quarter.

That was all the points Clear Fork would need, but the Colts kept on kicking. Nash Evans drilled a 21-yard field goal with 3:43 remaining in the half to make it 12-0 at intermission.

Alekai Price turned one of those picks into points, with a 6-yard interception return for a touchdown at the 2:11 mark of the third period for an 18-0 bulge.

Clear Fork’s Alex Schlosser then broke loose on a 4th-and-2 play for a 22-yard TD dash and the PAT finished the scoring at 25-0 with 10:28 remaining in the game.

Galion’s Caden Dick completed 17-of-31 passes for 164 yards, but suffered four interceptions. Teammate Kurt Hay caught eight passes for 77 yards.

Galion completed its season with a 5-5 mark, 3-4 in the MOAC.

The Colts finished the regular season 8-2 overall, 6-2 and third in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference. Clear Fork is hopeful for a bye in the first round of the playoffs, but won’t know its fate for certain in Division IV, Region 14 until the OHSAA releases the playoff pairings on Sunday.
