Terry L. Leatherow, age 82, of Ontario, Ohio passed away on October 29, 2025 peacefully with his family following an extended illness. He was born on December 5, 1942 in Ashland, Ohio to the late William and Ann (Ohler) Leatherow. On June 16, 1979 he married Vickie Hunt at the Ontario Methodist Church and they shared 38 years of marriage.
Terry was raised in Haysville, Ohio and resided in Ontario. He had worked at Hydromatic Pump and retired from the former Empire Detroit Steel Mill, where he was well known as Herc. He was also a member of the United Steel Workers Local Union #169.
Terry enjoyed going to auctions after retirement and scrapping. He always enjoyed riding his Honda motorcycles with friends. He loved going boating until he wrecked his. Terry‘s proudest achievement was long motorcycle trips like the East Coast from Maine to Florida and Home. He was kind, helpful and always wanted to accommodate others before himself.
He has survived by his children, Tyler (Teresa) Leatherow, Todd Leatherow, Jennifer (Kevin) Johnson, Holly (Jamie) Christo and Jamey (Keisha) Herrick; grandchildren, Tanner, Grant, Laine, Chelsea, Colton, Ronnie, Chance, Dj, Niko, Kyle, Mya and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vickie and sisters, Nancy Shafer and Toni Burgess.
The family would like to thank Ontario Estates and Southern Care Hospice for the excellent care they provided.
A celebration of Terry’s life will be held on November 23, 2025 from 1:00-4:00 PM at Hope Cabins and Banquet, 5310 Oh-288, Galion.
