ONTARIO — The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Richland County will be celebrating its new location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. on Sept. 8.

“Our new space represents a milestone in NAMI Richland County’s growth, but it’s also a testament to the strength of community partnerships,” Aubrie Hall, executive director, said.

The new office is located at 2131 Park Avenue West, Suite 200, inside the building owned by the Area Agency on Aging Foundation. Hall said the collaboration will provide a meaningful, welcoming, accessible and centrally-located home that supports both organizations’ goals of improving community well-being.

In addition, the relocation will allow NAMI Richland County to better meet the demands they require for mental health services, support groups, education programs and advocacy work throughout the region.

A milestone for NAMI Richland County

NAMI Richland County is an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization.

“With the support of dedicated agencies, local leaders and generous donors, we are better positioned than ever to meet the needs of individuals and families facing mental health challenges,” Hall said.

The upgraded facility will offer:

  • Expanded space for support groups, education courses and community trainings
  • Private meeting rooms for one-on-one peer and family navigation
  • Greater accessibility for individuals with disabilities
  • A warm and inclusive environment aligned with NAMI’s core mission

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests can tour the new space, meet the NAMI Richland County team and learn more about NAMI’s growing programs and impact, until 4 p.m.

Community support and funding

“This transition would not be possible without the Leadership Unlimited Class of 2025, all those who attended or donated during our 2025 NAMIWalks Richland County Event, the Ontario Police Department, and our primary funder – The Richland Recovery Network,” Hall said.

Partner support and fundraising played a significant role in helping secure resources to support this move and future program expansion, Hall said.

Funding for NAMI Richland County comes from the Richland County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board levy and local fundraising efforts. The levy will be up for renewal this November.
