Larry A. Swanger, 76 of Mansfield, Ohio passed away May 22, 2025 at Ohio Health after a brief illness.

Born March 4, 1949, he was the son of Arthur and Bonnie (Joseph) Swanger. On June 19, 1987 he married Bonnie K. Radebaugh at the Mansfield Municipal Courthouse and together they shared 37 years.

In addition to his wife, Bonnie, he is survived by his son, Larry (Darlene) Swanger; stepchildren, Tanner (Heather) Radebaugh and Taryn (Mick) Cox; grandchildren, Lauryn and Bret Swanger and Reagyn Cox; great-grandchildren, Bret and Brookelynn Swanger; siblings, Sue (Joe) McGreggor, Tim (Gina) Swanger, and Mark (Joyce) Swanger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Bonnie Swanger; a son, Bret Swanger; grandson, Bronson Radebaugh; and brother, Michael (Linda) Swanger.

Larry was a 1967 graduate of Madison High School. He had several jobs throughout his career but he retired in 2012 from the State of Ohio, MANCI. He served four years in the USCG and was assigned to the USCG Ice Breaker Mackinaw in Cheboygan, Michigan. Larry enjoyed playing softball and bowling for many years. He was an avid fisherman and spent weekends with his family and friends on Lake Erie. He loved watching the OSU Buckeyes, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Cleveland Guardians. Larry will be remembered for his kindness and generosity to his children and grandchildren.

There will be no funeral or calling hours per Larry’s wishes.
