Weather changes closure of S. Main St. in Mansfield for Ohio 13 resurfacing project

MANSFIELD — Mother Nature’s wrath of rain has impacted an Ohio 13 resurfacing project, which in turn will affect Mansfield-area drivers.

According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, State Route 13 northbound and southbound, from Hanley Road to Chilton Avenue, will have lane closures for a resurfacing project.

Traffic will be maintained in a 12-foot lane using barrels.

The estimated completion will be May of 2027.

New impacts

Due to weather the closure of the South Main Street entrance ramp has been postponed. It was previously scheduled to close Sept. 21.

The South Main Street entrance ramp to State Route 13 north will now close on Friday, Sept. 25 for pavement repairs. The detour route to State Route 13 north will be South Main Street south to West Cook Road west to U.S. 42 north (Lexington Ave.) to State Route 13.

The estimated reopening will be on Sunday, Sept. 27.
