MARION — The main stage at the 44th Annual Marion Popcorn Festival will again feature three nights of free live entertainment, including a tribute to a legendary California band, the American Idol Season 19 Champion and a heavy metal legend.
The 2025 festival will be Sept. 4-6 in downtown Marion.
“Out of Eden — A Tribute to the Eagles, a seven-piece tribute band from northeast Ohio, will perform Sept. 4.
The band includes members Ron White, Jim Rey, John Szymkowski, Chris Wintrip, Bob Beals, Jack Palleschi and Chris Wintrip, Jr.
Country artist Chayce Beckham will take the main stage on Sept. 5. Scoring nominations at this year’s People’s Choice Country Awards for New Artist of 2024 and CMT Music Awards for his hit single “23,” the fiery singer-songwriter laid out a course only he could follow, and today remains even more dedicated to his unique creative compass.
The heavy metal band Quiet Riot will wrap up main stage entertainment on Sept. 6.
Famously described as the first heavy metal band to top the pop chart at #1 on Billboard magazine, the Los Angeles quartet became an overnight sensation thanks to its monster 1983 smash album “Metal Health.”
Driven by the irresistible double whammy of the rendition of the old Slade chestnut “Cum on Feel the Noize,” and their original song “Metal Health” (Bang your head) the album stormed up the U.S. charts, duly reaching number one and going platinum five times over in the process.
All headlining bands will perform at 8:30 p.m., following 6 p.m. opening bands. All performances on the festival’s main stage are free of charge.
Other festival events and activities include a Popcorn Parade on Sept. 4 with more than 300 units, a 5-K Run, juried Fine Arts show, crafts and vendors, a corn hole tournament, the Community Showcase Stage, a Poppin’ Party stage beer garden, a Popcorn Matinee musical performance at the historic Marion Palace Theatre and more.
