MANSFIELD – A crowd of more than 250 Democrats, Independents and Republicans were in attendance on Saturday, April 26 for the Joseph H. Mudra Legacy Dinner.

The keynote speaker was Dr. Amy Acton, Candidate for Governor of Ohio. Dr. Acton was introduced by 6th District State Representative and Mansfield native Christine Cockley.

“Dr. Acton contrasted the pattern of corruption which has permeated the government of the State of Ohio with a message of aspiration to bring a positive atmosphere back to the great State of Ohio,” organizers stated.

Chairman Larry Weirich and Emcee Judge Phil Naumoff stressed that the legacy of former party Chairman Joseph H. Mudra would continue by promoting the party’s basic principles and community service.

Weirich presented awards to four deserving volunteers.

Dorinda Strang received the Democrat of the Year for 2024. Gerald Vega was the recipient of the 2024 Emily Campbell Brown Young Dem of the Year Award.
