MANSFIELD — The city of Mansfield is launching a new Mayor’s Beautification Award program to recognize businesses, organizations and residents who help improve the appearance of the community through property maintenance, landscaping and other beautification efforts.
Mayor Jodie Perry said the initiative is designed to encourage community pride and celebrate those who contribute to a cleaner and more attractive city.
“Beautifying our city starts with the pride and commitment of our local businesses, organizations and residents,” Perry said. “Together, we can create a cleaner, more vibrant Mansfield that reflects the spirit of our community.”
The award will recognize property owners who demonstrate excellence in landscaping, exterior improvements, cleanliness, creativity and community spirit.
The program will run from April through October, with an additional award presented in December for holiday-themed displays and decorations.
Nominations will be accepted monthly and must be submitted by the 10th of each month. The first nomination period begins in June for the July award, with subsequent recognitions following the same schedule.
Award recipients will be recognized during a Mansfield City Council meeting and will receive a certificate from the mayor and a yard sign for display at the winning property.
Eligible nominees include local businesses, nonprofit organizations and individual residents.
To nominate a property, submit the name of the business, organization or resident; property address; contact person; phone number; email address; and photographs highlighting property improvements.
Nominations should be emailed to TGermann@mansfieldohio.gov.
