Donald “Donnie” Edward Beck passed away peacefully with his sons and daughter in law by his side on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the age of 100. He was joyfully reunited at the heavenly gates with his beloved wife, Jean, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion.

Born in Crestline, on January 13, 1925, to the late Frederick and Mary (Stough) Beck, Donnie was a proud graduate of Crestline High School, Class of 1943. Soon after, he answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Navy during World War II. He served with honor and dedication, embodying the values of duty and sacrifice.

Donnie would marry Marian “Jean” Boals on June 30, 1946, and they shared 78 years of loving marriage before her passing on November 4, 2024. Jean and Donnie loved to see the world together, embarking on many journeys together through the years.

Donnie worked alongside his wife at Beck’s Bakery, a cherished family business that brought joy to many in the community. In 1972, he transitioned to a new career at Kime Lumber, where he worked diligently until his well-earned retirement in 1982.

Donnie was a lifetime member of the Crestline VFW Post 2920, the Crestline American Legion Post 488, and the Crestline Lion’s Club. He and his wife, were active members of the First English Lutheran Church of Crestline until its closure. Donnie and Jean would then attend Trinity Lutheran Church where they continued their faith and fellowship with their new church family. A man of Crestline pride, Donnie would never miss a chance to cheer on his beloved Bulldogs, with his wife Jean by his side.

Donnie’s memories will be cherished by his sons: Rich (Linda) Beck of Olathe, Kansas, and Tim Beck of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren: Jake Beck, Jason (Jaclyn Hupp) Beck, Carli Monroe, and Abby Beck; great-grandchildren: Adrianna McConnaughy, Quinny Monroe, Grant Beck, and Olivia Beck; and sister-in-law: Pam Boals.

In addition to his parents and wife, Donnie was preceded in death by his brothers: Robert Beck and Jack Beck; and brother-in-law: John Boals.

Friends may call on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home; 223 W. Main St. Crestline. The funeral service will begin immediately following visitation with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
