MANSFIELD — The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center Board of Governors voted Wednesday to approve a contract with Eric Turlo as director of student services.
Turlo will start Aug. 1. He will work with outgoing MOESC Director of Student Services Jennifer Crum through her anticipated retirement in January 2026.
Turlo is currently the student services director in the Madison Local School District.
“It’s a privilege to join Mid-Ohio ESC as the new director of student services,” he said. “I’m passionate about supporting the well-being and academic success of all students, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the exceptional staff at Mid-Ohio ESC and collaborate with our client districts.”
“Jen Crum has built an incredible program, and I’m excited to carry that torch forward, ensuring that MOESC continues to be a leader in providing innovative and effective student services,” Turlo said.
Prior to being hired as Madison Local’s student services director, Turlo worked as the associate principal at Madison Middle School for three years.
He received his master’s degree of education in curriculum and instruction from Ashland University in August 2009 and his master of arts in school leadership from Concordia University in May 2015.
“I am excited to welcome Eric as the new Mid-Ohio ESC director of student services,” Crum said.
“His collaborative leadership, dedication and passion for supporting students and staff will continue to strengthen the services we offer, ensuring that every district has the resources and guidance they need to succeed.
“I have no doubt that he will inspire and lead our student services team to even greater heights, making a positive impact on our community,” Crum said.
She said his knowledge of student services and his familiarity with the MOESC service area set him apart from other qualified candidates.
Kevin D. Kimmel, MOESC superintendent, praised the move.
“Mrs. Crum has set a high standard for the services and support that MOESC provides
our client districts over the past six years, and I am confident that Mr. Turlo will continue this great work,” he said.
Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center provides specialized academic and support services to 13 school districts and more than 20,000 students in Crawford, Morrow and Richland counties. Client districts receive services from curriculum, gifted and special education consultants, speech pathologists, psychologists, special education teachers, occupational therapists and physical therapists.
