Your drive home from work today may be a bit messy.
And slippery.
Two to three inches of snow is possible today as a fast-moving clipper system rolls across Ohio, dropping light but steady snow that could make daytime travel interesting in north central Ohio.
The National Weather Service office in Cleveland has issued a hazardous weather outlook for today and tonight across an area that includes Richland, Ashland and Knox counties.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for counties northeast of this area with heavier snow expected.
The high today will top out around 29 with southwest wind gusts as high as 26 that could blow and drift the fluffy white stuff coming down.
The area could pick up another half inch overnight as temps drop to around 22.
After a partly sunny day Friday, with a high of 33, rain is likely Friday night, mixed with snow showers after 1 a.m. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
Saturday will be a typical gray winter day in north central Ohio. Expect rain and snow showers, mainly before 1 p.m. Another half inch of snow is possible.
All of that is a precursor to the coldest weather we have seen in years rolling in on Monday.
But that weather story is yet to come. Just make sure your winter coats and gloves are ready.
