PLYMOUTH — Seven young entrepreneurs will be displaying their creativity this weekend at Village Roots.
The monthly-marketplace is hosting its third annual Mini Makers Market on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Plymouth at 7 E. Main St.
Local youth will be showcasing their handmade products and creative projects.
“We love supporting young entrepreneurs and look forward to seeing their creativity,” said Katie Veletean, co-owner of Village Roots.
A variety of handmade goods will be offered, including arts, crafts, baked goods, jewelry and accessories, soaps and more.
Mimi’s Sugar Babes will be on-site all day with fresh donuts and coffee. The Gourmet Farm Girl will be offering samples of homemade chilis, soups and gourmet oil/vinegar.
Folks will also have a chance to order personalized ornaments from Finishing Touch by JsH, who will be working on-site Saturday and taking orders.
“This market is a collaboration with the Plymouth Area Historical Society and an initiative to spark entrepreneurship in kids,” Veletean said. “Help us celebrate and support the next generation of local business owners.”

Tenth annual Christmas in the Village set for Dec. 6 and 7
Veletean and Village Roots are also part of the planning committee, along with the Plymouth Improvement Committee, for Plymouth’s annual Christmas in the Village festival.

Entering its 10th year, Christmas in the Village is set for Dec. 6 (noon to 10 p.m.) and Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. in downtown Plymouth.
The festival features plenty of holiday-inspired fun, including a small business shopping market, food trucks, live music and entertainment, ice skating, rides, and a model train exhibit.
Friday’s schedule includes the annual Parade of Lights at 6:30 p.m. and a Christmas fireworks display at 9 p.m.
“With the generous donations and sponsorships through local and area small businesses, all activities and attractions are free for you to enjoy,” Veletean said.
“Mark your calendars and join us for the most magical, family-friendly Christmas experience in the area. We are so lucky to be a part of the planning committee for this event alongside the Plymouth Improvement Committee.”
