MANSFIELD: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
On the morning of Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Vicki (Beer) Berger, age 63, beloved wife, mother, sister, and favorite job of all “Mimi” to her surviving and much loved grandchildren Joey and Rowen, threw off the bounds of this life and joined her beloved son, Samuel, who preceded her on January 10, 1996 and her mother, Sally Parilla, who passed on January 1, 2023.
Vicki was a 1979 graduate of Lexington High School and also attended Kent State University and Ashland University. Vicki devoted herself to raising her young boys before reentering the workforce and most recently was serving as a paraprofessional at Malabar Intermediate School. She was surrounded by many friends and “her other kids” that she loved so dearly. She was able to bless so many using her artistic gifts and caring heart to serve anyone and everyone in need. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and an active member of the congregation at Crossroads Church.
There are no words that can describe the pain we are feeling, but trust in God’s will during this time of loss. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
Vicki is also survived by her husband of 44 years Jay, son Joe (Stephanie) of Brunswick, parents of Joey and Rowen; son Mitchell at home; brother Jeff (Jane) Beer of Aurora, IL, their children Julia and Jimmy; second father, Rich Parilla of Huron, OH; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Chuck and Ronda Berger of Wadsworth, OH, their children Zach (Lindsay) (niece Tenley), Brooke (AJ) (special “lake” nephew Mason), Sarah (Nate) Winkler; father-in-law and mother-in-law Joe and Phyllis Berger of Wadsworth; special aunt Rose Lewis of Mansfield; many “Plain City” family members as well as all of her “lake” family, along with many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her father Jim Beer in 1973, grandparents Wilber and Ester Beer, and Omar and Belle Scheiderer.
