Stephanie Kaye Thomas, age 35, of Mansfield, passed peacefully at her home early Saturday morning, November 2, 2024. Although Stephanie lived a life with cerebral palsy, she always remained joyful and happy.
It was easy to tell that Stephanie was a child of God simply by her personality and happiness. What are simple things to many meant the world to Stephanie and brought her great joy. Whenever she heard a familiar voice, she would instantly light up and smile with excitement. The laughter of others, especially children, brought Stephanie happiness. Whether at home or at church services, she enjoyed music and singing along with those around her. She loved being outdoors in the fresh air where she would watch and listen for birds while she spent time in her swing. She enjoyed the Christmas season as it meant time spent looking at Christmas lights. Stephanie always enjoyed her bath time as well. In her own way, she loved arts and crafts, especially balloons, paintings, and drawings. She certainly was loved by all who knew her. Stephanie was truly an angel here on earth, sent from heaven.
Stephanie was born June 21, 1989 in Shelby to Drexel G. Thomas and the late Marion Michelle (Hull) Workman. She is survived by her father and step-mother: Drexel G. Thomas and Patti Case whom she lived with and cared for her; her brother: Scott Thomas and fiancé Emily Chelski of Lexington; nephew and niece: Blaine Thomas and Olivia Thomas; paternal grandmother: Evelene Thomas of Mansfield; step-sisters: Merry Doerr, Annie Featheringill, Christina West, and Amanda Case, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
